Captain Diego Chara has signed a multi-year contract extension, keeping him with the club through 2024.

Chara, 35, has been with the Timbers since 2011, joining during their inaugural season in MLS. He was the club’s first-ever Designated Player signing.
The Colombian midfielder has 354 career appearances in all competitions for Portland, including 13 goals, 21 assists, and 102 yellow cards.
