Blazers shunned on Christmas

by Kevin Nesgoda

Damian Lillard and the rest of the Portland Trail Blazers are going to have Christmas Day off this year. The NBA has leaked their Christmas Day game slate this year and the Blazers are not on it.

This is a little surprising as Portland figures to be one of the more prominent teams in the Western Conference this season.

Instead, the only team from the Norwest Division is the Denver Nuggets and they’ll get a home game against the New Orleans Pelicans.

The marquee game of the day is going to be the Battle of Los Angeles as the Lakers take on the Clippers. The rest of the slate features the Boston Celtics against the defending champion Toronto Raptors, the Milwaukee Bucks taking on the Philadelphia 76ers, the Houston Rockets traveling to San Francisco to take on the Golden State Warriors.

After the seven-game classic this past May I thought the Blazers and Nuggets would have made the most sense, but NBA is going all-in on Zion Williamson it appears. Lillard and the Blazers definitely don’t need another chip on their shoulder or anything.
